lyrics

take a ride with me on an emerald leaf
ooh… it’ll soothe your head as you rest your feet
coming up ahead in the morning breeze
ooh… little woman standing at the edge of the beach

see the ripples on the shore
dream of new lands unexplored

board the ship with Yali
and know that her eyes have seen
all your black hearts breaking
you were older then
you were younger when
you wait for me

laughing all the way to San Pablo Bay
ooh… lovin’ in your smile as you row away
pluck the ripest peach from the forest tree
ooh... la la la la la la la la la

drink from the honeydew
sweet, there’s nothing sweet as you

about

The Soft Hills Los Angeles, California

LA-based project The Soft Hills create a visceral take on soft-psych indie rock, calling to mind the hypnotic melancholy of the Red House Painters as well as contemporaries like Grizzly Bear or Radiohead.

Songwriter Garrett Hobba started the project in Seattle in 2007. The band, which involves a rotating door of friends and musicians, has toured several times through the US and Europe.
